I’m posting this in here, because I know folks in here would be interested.

Last night my wife and myself watched the movie, Mother Teresa,
staring Olivia Hussey as Mother Teresa.

It was very good! I thought that Olivia Hussey having played Mary in Jesus of Nazareth, would never be able to play Mother Teresa and not have her former character come through.
However, such is not the case. She did a fabulous job in the role of Mother Teresa.

The movie did a good job telling what Mother Teresa went through, to start her mission. The movie also touched on the Dark Night of the soul, which she experienced.

Its a movie I will probably purchase. Netflix has it, for those who are members there.

Yeah my family loves this movie. My two little girls love Mother Teresa. When they saw the movie it opened their eyes to wanting to take up “Holy Orders” as my 6 year old put it. The other day a couple of the sisters from the missionaries of charity gave both of my little girls rosaries to pray with. My daughters were very happy. What was really funny though is that my wife was pregnant and me my wife and my eldest daughter were trying to come up with names. One of the sister said we should call him Joseph Benedict and so my son’s name will be Joseph Benedict. After that I told my six year old you see how God works. When you have a question he will always provide an answer.😃 😃 😃 😃

Hi Jim how may I get a copy of this film it is not out in New Zealand as yet.

godbless

We have it, too. Olivia Hussey gave a wonderful, heart warming (and heart rending) performance, as Mother Teresa of Calcutta. We got it, at Walmart… of all places! 😃

I would like to recommend another film to you. It’s called “Have No Fear” (story of Pope John Paul II). It’s one of the shorter film versions of his life… and in places, is a bit choppy (it will suddenly skip ahead, a number of years, etc.). I imagine it is difficult for film makers, to include all aspects of his complex life. A thoroughly told film account of his life, would probably be a good 3-4 hour film.

But the one I mention, it is well acted, and well cast. It is inspiring.👍

Thanks, Jim. I didn’t know about this movie but will put it in my Blockbuster queue. 😃

I own this one - I loved this movie! I thought it was wonderfully done.

I let my dad borrow it, he has a very strong devotion to Blessed Teresa, and he really loved this movie, and was crying within the first 30 minutes of the movie. 🙂
