I wasn’t sure where to put this topic, but I was reading about the healing of Monica Besra, a woman in West Bengal, India, in 1998. This was the approved miracle that lead to St. Teresa of Calcutta’s beatification in 2003. The doctors dispute that it was a miracle and claim it was due to medical treatment. Apparently Besra’s medical records from that time are being kept by the Missionary Sisters of Charity, who are not releasing them for public scrutiny. Since the tumour seems to have disappeared overnight, I’m curious why the doctors disputed it, but I can’t find exactly what the reasons are.

For anyone interested, Biography.com published an article last year about the miraculous healings: Mother Teresa: The Miracles That Made Her a Saint - Biography
