Anyone read this or currently reading this book?
Up for discussion on how it is working in your life?
I will be offline tomorrow (Sunday) but would like to talk about this book with others.
Thanks!

I’m reading the chapter on spiritual sloth. I’m struggling with getting the rule in order. I see a lot of me in places.

We had another thread on this, but it seems to have gone silent.

I’m still trying to decide on the essentials of my daily routine. It’s making me think about a lot of questions that I’d been avoiding. For instance:

Prayer: Should we keep trying to go to Mass every day…or just settle for a couple of times a week, since that’s what we usually end up doing anyway?

Person: How much time should I spend on my appearance? I think I’ve been erring on the side of “too little.” (This is also a Partner issue, of course!)

With every “organizing” method I try, I always seem to get bogged down in the list-making stage. Too ambitious, perhaps? :o I guess it would be better to make a quick schedule based on the absolute minimum, get started, then gradually add to it as I go along.

Anyway, I’ll re-read the book today…and offer up some prayers for the rest of you ladies who are working on it. 🙂

Here’s what I came up with, based on our current routine.

The baby is 8 months old; she’s been sleeping and napping on a regular schedule for several months. (We worked with her natural rhythms, following Dr. Marc Weissbluth’s advice.) Although she’s happy to crawl and play by herself, it’s still hard for me to get things done, because I end up spending most of my “chore time” hanging out on the floor with her! Those foam blocks sure are fun for all ages! 😃

I am reading about the third P now…

I think my tentative plan is to read the book through once, then go back to re-read more carefully and slowly and then make my
lists. I get too caught up in the writing part so I lose some information that I am reading.

I, too, see sooooo much of myself in Holly’s writing. I COULD HAVE WRITTEN SOME OF THIS BOOK! 😉

At the moment, I am struggling with personal sloth and a very needy baby and fatigue, plus gearing up for the upcoming homeschool year. (WHINY ME!)
I want to get some serious schedules in place before “school” starts, for the benefit of ALL of us!

Off to get some work done and pull myself away from this computer on which I spend tooooooooo much time!
