A couple of days ago I was on the couch taking a nap. And like usual I was awakened around 8:00pm by my mom telling me to do my homework. At that I point I saw more purpose in just sleping for the rest of the night. Then a few minutes later my brother comes in with his laptop with a bunch of music on it(of bands I liked) and starts playing it. I was then when I got enough energy to get out of bed and do whatever. I believe that music is a great way to motivate someone to get up. I just wanna know what motivates you to get up in the morning.

At my age and health condition, not much motivates me except my cats prickling me to get me up and give them their treats. But, I usually wake up after 8 hours of sleep, anyway.

JFYI, it’s a proven fact that teens need more sleep than adults. So, as a teen you need to schedule your time so you can get the 9 to 10 hours of sleep you need and still do your homework, extracurricular activities, and have fun with your friends, as well. That is your lot in life for now, but you can do it. This is the time to start teaching yourself self-discipline so that as an adult you will know what is important, what isn’t, and how to spend your time wisely. And yes, scheduling naps is a good idea, so long as you can still do the things you have to do. 😉

When I was a teen, I usd to try to convince my teacher that (because teens need more sleep) they shouldn’t give us so much homework; so that we could still do all those other things and then get enough rest. They always told me that teens don’t really need more sleep than adults. Shows how stupid they were! 😉

Fear of being late for work (or, rather, fear of my bosses’ reactions if I’m late for work). If I’m not working first thing that day though, not wanting to feel grotty from oversleeping ranks up there as one of my main motivators.

My little one nudging at me saying, “Mommy! Make me something to eat!!” 😛
