If there was to be a movie about the life of Pope John Paul II, who would you like to see play him?
 
I don’t think you can use any mainstream Hollywood actor. Your best bet is to look in the European markets and get an actor from there.

what about marlon brando? is he dead? he would be perfect if he is still alive.
 
I agree that the actor ought to come from Europe, and I think that Mel ought to direct and produce…

Let’s just hope such a movie isn’t made by CBS-TV! They would have James Brolin as the Pope!

Albert Finney played the Pope in the movie “Pope John Paul II.” I thought he was excellent and would love to see him do a sequel.

I think it should be an actor who shares JPII’s beliefs, just like Mel had Jim Caviezel, a practicing Catholic, play Jesus in the "Passion."

yeah he also played larry flint in the movie people vs larry flint i am sure that is not who you want to play the pope in a movie.

Oh come on people. It has to be a Polish actor. Who else but a Pole would be able to say “My Dear young people” the way John Paul II used to say?
 
I would pay good $$ to see the movie if it was done well. (I thionk Mel is our only hope)

I would hope that it would illustrate his messages of love, peace, democracy, church teachings, and not just some Hollywood sensatioanle hero role. (that typical hollywood tripe, you know what I mean)

I would love to see a good movie about him & his works.

Best known at the moment as Barbra Streisand’s wife, I mean husband. Diane Lane’s step-mom-in-law as well.
