This is a new movie out… the thing is, I heard a review for it on Relevant (Catholic) Radio.

So, I grew up when there were Catholic ratings and I’m sure those still exist… but the plot line sounds interesting. The review on Catholic radio was very positive FWIW… so what does that mean? No cussing? It is rated PG-13.

An African American gets a law degree, I gather from decades ago. Instead of joining the corporate world, he represents some accused of murder and facing the death penalty.

The movie flew under the radar for me. It is in nearby theaters, I might try to see it soon.

Common Sense Media has the answers. You can find a detailed report there. You’ll have to click to expand and read specific info on violence and language, as well as positive aspects like good role models.

I give it a 6.5/10

Really average writing, and below average acting by Michael B Jordan
