Has anyone seen the documentary “One of Us” directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady (the directors of 2006’s “Jesus Camp”)? The film is the story of three people who leave the ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jewish community: one woman was abused by her husband and her kids were taken from her and one of the men was sexually abused at a Jewish kids camp and knew nothing of the Internet. The film is viewable on Netflix.

Of most interest to me was the story of sexual abuse related by one of the subjects of the film. Sexual abuse is very much a problem in the Jewish community same as the Catholic Church but of course there’s been little to no publicity about this problem in the Jewish community. Below is a documentary called “Code of Silence” which is discusses the secrecy regarding this issue:

According to a the film, “One of Us” there is a website which lists those in the Jewish communities who have sexually abused
Minors:

https://www.jewishcommunitywatch.org/

I counted the amount of offenders listed on this site and there are 233!

That’s sad that in this day and age anyone thinks hiding the truth of sexual abuse is a good thing for anyone, for any reason.

Just want to mention that abuse is much higher among public school teachers than among priests, and in other institutions as well such as protestant ministers.

I did see the documentary and found it very interesting.

The predators always seem to find a way of getting easy access to their victims.

Look at the doctor for USA Gymnastics that had access to all the female
gymnasts for years.

Sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable adults is a problem in every community on earth.

It’s hardly something unique to either the Catholic Church or to religious organizations in general.
