Movie 'Song to Song'?

I thought this movie was going to be about 4 people involved in the music industry and or trying to become a successful entertainer, but the entire movie is like one long prologue, its just a bunch of random scenes that seem like home movie clips. I watched the whole 2 hour movie and have no idea what it was really about! LOL
