Ok everyone here it goes. I have a real problem with movie stars. I am so sick of their lack of morals, spouting off their opinions against President Bush, the lack of respect—it is out and out sickening to me. What also reeeeelly bothers me is the adoration of these people from the public. They preen at these award ceremonies complimenting each other regarding their looks their gowns their talent (or lack there of) opps sorry they are soooooo talented.

I find this situation getting worse and worse. I can barely turn on the television anymore.

So my question is: is their anyone out there besides myself who feels this way? I seriously have thought about starting a grass movement to maybe suggest to these people that we only want them to entertain us not give us their political religious and moral views. I particularily take exception regarding their absolute disrespect to President Bush. These has been actors (Bette Midler, Whoope Goldburg) trying to gather an audience talking against the president regading the war, abortion, gay rights/marriage and so on and so on.

Ok I said my peace and do fell better just venting and I know we should love one another. But really am I the only one that feels this way and is there anything we can do about this? They have the money and their mouths are huge.

I agree with you. They feel that just because they are famous they also gain intelligence about politics, religion, world affairs, etc. Some do have a clue but the vast majority are parrots of what ever their handlers tell them. I do like movies, music etc. But I am also sick of the ignorance. I am a conservative but I will listen to someone criticize Bush or others if they have a valid point. Bush isn’t perfect, name a world leader who is, but he is better than most. Anyway I agree I wish the celebrities would just stick to entertainment and stay out of things they know nothing about. Or at least get educated about the issues before they speak.

Please join us at www.pabaah.com. PABAAH stands for Patriotic Americans Boycotting Anti-American Hollywood. There you can find quotes from anti-American entertainers, movies to boycott, etc.

The person who started the site, Jon Alvarez is a true patriot. He has debated Ed Asner (unfortunately on the Daily Show), protested the protesters at the Republican Convention and was even on the cover of U.S. News & World Report (they just happened to pick him). He said he regretted that he was too old to serve in the military. Well, when they raised the age limit, he joined up and is currently in basic training.

I use the same handle there so you will know my posts when you read them.

Oh I agree with you. We don’t go to movies anymore because most of the big stars are Bush-bashers or political activists.

I only watch movies with Jim Caveziel and Ricardo Montalban in them! 👍

I see about one or two movies a year and I listen to reviews beforehand. I am not about to make them any richer for their immoral behavior, sick movies, or their antiamerican antics. I have saved a lot of money on movies, newspapers, magazines, etc. I saved even more grief.

I am so with you on this. My list of entertainers shrinks a bit everyday and I can probably count on one hand the ones I admire. I rather agree with Laura Ingraham when she says “Shut Up & Sing!” I would be really annoyed if I paid $75.00 plus to hear someone sing and I had to hear a tirade of political bunk  :banghead: in between sets. Of course, my concerts are limited to a select few and I pretty much know who to stay away from these days. By the way, tickets for these performances are ridiculously expensive any more. I gave up going to the movies a long time ago. I can tell the ones that I would like , so I rent those. The last movie I actually saw in a theatre was Tha Passion of The Christ. Before that, well I can’t remember!

Since I rarely go to the movies, I am already boycotting Hollywood. The only movie I may go see this year is the Narnia movie comming out later this year.

Are they doing that again/still? I confess, while I go to movies (seldom) and rent them (more frequently than going), I tend not to notice, and especially not to care, when celebrities speak outside of character. And I believe I am happier for that. 😛

I really don’t mind that they have opinions – They are certainly entitled to them. I just don’t care what they are, nor can I imagine why I should.

What does bother me is when, as happened a few years ago, a celebrity would say something against the president or against the war; the public would react; the celebrity would complain of censorship. (Examples: The Dixie Chicks, Tim Robbins, Janeane Garofalo)

They were never censored. No one from the government made them stop saying what they wanted to say. They devalued themselves in the eyes of their customers, and their customers stopped buying (if that) or otherwise complained. If they make themselves unmarketable, they have no one to blame but themselves. D’uh!

PS.
Completely kidding: Christopher Walken for President :rotfl:

I’m a movie goer and renter. I dont care what their politics are or what they say. They pay taxes just like me and have a right to a public opinion. Personaly, I wouldnt divulge my feelings cause too many people do hold it against them and will actually stop being a fan cause their views may differ with theirs. Do folks stop inviting family over for the holidays and cooking meals for them if their opinions differ? If yes, I am saddened by that.

It’s one thing to express your opinion and another to do things that are harmful to our country. Do you not know that Al-Jazeera uses all these quotes as propaganda? When Sean Penn goes to Iraq and says things are just fine there that is very un-American. That’s why we boycott them.
