Was this movie anti-union? I could not help but think they threw the police officers’ union under the bus on this one – the bad cop, who was already under investigation for shooting the running looter, should have been suspended and off the streets before the Algiers hotel. I’m surprised this wasn’t presented during the trial - was it?

I read it was a historic biopic with a very liberal leaning slant on it. More of a Hollywood divide and conquer sort of propaganda piece. Not the type of movie I’d be interested in.

Except for the fact it’s from the same director of “Zero Dark Thirty,” about catching bin Laden, and “The Hurt Locker,” about PTSD and our nation’s veterans. Hardly “liberal.” I haven’t heard anyone from Detroit’s law enforcement community dispute anything dramatized in the movie, which “Dunkirk” (for example) can’t say, France disputing that non-biopic. It’s a compelling movie well worth seeing.

There were so many miscarriages of justice portrayed in that movie, it wasn’t just one bad cop. Don’t see how bringing up whether or not he should have been suspended would have affected the crimes committed at the Algiers hotel.
