I’m in the mood for a nice movie. There are many movies on the Saints, but in particular I want to see one about an Eastern Catholic saint! Are there any good ones that you could suggest?

I think there was a Greek documentary about the Jesus prayer - I don’t know . . A priest might have a copy.

How about Ostrov? A wonderful Russian movie with subtitles about a modern-day fool for Christ.

They recently just did a documentary about the Jesus prayer in English that has appeared on tv:

Yes, this movie is highly entertaining and is a great portrayal of Orthodox Christianity. For those who don’t know, it is titled The Island in English and it’s on Netflix.

If someone need information about the history and the identity of Aramaic speaking christians you could watch ‘The last Assyrians’ (53 minutes)

This documentary received congratulations and support from Cardinal Moussa Daoud, managing all the Oriental Catholic Churches in The Vatican(Chaldeans, Catholic Syriac etc.), Theophilus George Saliba, the Syrian Orthodox Archbishop of Mount Lebanon, Mar Narsai de Baz, Archbishop of the Assyrian Church of the East, Samuel Aktas Syriac Archbishop of TurAbdin, and from several Scholars, Specialists and political leaders. This film is one of the very first documentaries telling all this history, from ancient Mesopotamia and the origin of the Aramaic language to the actual tragic situation. It tells of all the Churches using Syriac language. It was selected in several international festivals and broadcast on several TV channels.
