Hello, We are a homeschooling military family moving to the DC area this summer. My husband will be working in Bethesda, MD. We are in debate about living in Maryland or NOVA. We have kids ranging from ages 16-9, so particularly concerned about High School homeschooling resources and communities, looking for high school classes and athletics. The high cost of living, commute, and homeschool laws seem a bit overwhelming. We would like to connect quickly with a conservative vibrant parish that has a good homeschooling community.

Any insight you can share would be so greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

What gender are your kids? If you are looking for non homeschooling high schools, then I know some.

2 graduated (both boys) - just needed to include them 🙂
16 year old girl (current sophmore)
13 year old girl
10 year old boy
9 yer old boy

I dont know about any homeschooling parishes, but Georgetown Visitation (all girls Catholic school) is a good school academically and is more traditional. There is also Holy Cross, Holy Child, and Stone Ridge which are also all girls catholic schools in Maryland I believe.

As for the younger boys, there is a co-ed school called Blessed Sacrament in Chevy Chase Maryland that I think goes up to grade eight.

Sorry I cant give you any information about homeschooling, I just know about Catholic Schools.
