Just imagine if there was a traveling priest and a very large -top rated choir, that put on a top notch High Mass… Now imagine this group traveling together around the world putting on Masses in only Cathedrals.👍

Would not everyone from each diocese become exited if this special Mass were to take place near their parish…? Wouldn’t it cause people to appreciate TLM, get excited, and want to go.🙂

Here in Orange county, the old *Crystal Cathedral *has been purchased by the diocese and is being transformed into the Christ Cathedral… So can there be a TLM symphony tour that includes our *Christ Cathedral *when it opens? 😉 🙂
 
OK… After further consideration, there doesn’t need to be a priest who travels with the choir, because there is a Bishop from each diocese who can do the Mass.

…there only needs to be a huge, talented and world renown group of vocalists willing to do some traveling. ;). And when I say huge, I mean like 70 or 80. They need to be the best of the best. :cool:
 
I love that! It is great watching Mass at the Vatican just for the chants its incredibly beautiful. Wish I could sing/chant like that, my voice is horrible.

The chants, for me, if done well can become hair raisingly good (:D), but I’m quite sure singing is not one of my talents -though I do have an appreciation for hearing it. 🙂

It’s not? That’s a pretty negative response.

…so there should be no chanting at all then during mass? No singing, no music, no organs…? Do nothing special for God at all then? Just do my worshiping and leave?

Hahaha… You paint it in such a negative light. Is that because God doesn’t like that kind of stuff or because you don’t think there should be too much emphasis placed on that aspect of worship?

How do you know what the Mass should look like?

…at a Christmas Mass a few years ago in Arizona that I attended, they actually brought in all kinds of extravagant musical instruments, and hired musicians to come play them. I enjoyed it. Was that wrong of them to do?

Yeah, they brought in chimes and a harp, and when they played Gloria in Excelsis Deo, it was spectacular. 👍
 
I’m in a men’s Gregorian chant group, and we routinely go around our deanery and do this exact thing. Not all choirs are ready to put forth the time it takes to do Mass with the official Latin (it does take time to learn everything - even the music is written differently). We have 10 guys that get together and train in this style so it is actually available to Catholics here in Central Texas. It’s not a performance, it’s just more solemn than the typical Mass - and it’s all legit.

We compose and print out worship aids so the people know what we’re singing, we sing the Mass in cassocks and surplices, we are capable of doing EF or OF Masses with as little or as much Latin as requested, and we have materials for the priest and the people to use. The people are usually very excited and ask us to come back soon. There really is a hunger out there for solemn worship.
