For Christmas for my papa I am recording a CD of all his favorite songs and music and I want to include a music book of the written lyrics and music sheets. Do any of you know where I can find free sheet music that I can print off? That would be so helpful! Would any of you like to help me in finding some songs, either the lyrics or the song being sung? For instance, the Edmond Fitzgerald or Gentle Woman or Jeepers Creepers? Where can I find someone singing that? Thanks!

The songs you mentioned are all under Copyright Law, so you won’t be able to get free music for them. The lyrics are available online, though – simply go to Google.com and type the title (in quotes) and the word “lyrics.” That usually works. Sometimes you also might have to put some of the lyrics in the search box.

For example, here are the three you mentioned:

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Jeepers Creepers

Hail Mary: Gentle Woman (this one also opens an audio file)

Some public libraries might have old charts that they will let you copy.

Possibly they also have records with those songs, too.

I’ve tried this and had a heck of a time finding certain songs.
