Muslims do NOT consider ourselves to be the children of Ishmael… nor indeed do we call ourselves the children of Abraham (peace be upon them).

Muslims, along with the rest of humankind, are instead referred to in the Qur’an as the children of Adam (pbuh).

I agree with hamba2han, meedo what you have shown is “the faith of your father Abraham”, not “children of Abraham”.

(Quran 7:27):
“O ye Children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the Evil Ones friends (only) to those without Faith.”

While Prophet Abraham (pbuh) may be the spiritual father for Muslims in their faith, nevertheless nowhere does the term “children of Abraham” appear in the Qur’an or even in the ahadith as compared to the terms “children of Adam” and the “children of Israel” which are indeed found in the Qur’an and which do indeed mean actual physical descendants.

Muslims are the physical decendants of Abraham as much as the isralites are the Physical decendants of Israel.

I am sorry you are saying what you are saying brother because there are major figures in Judaism that are converts and still God calls them Bani Israel ( children of israel) . And what you are doing is simply feeding the myth that muslims and arabs have no connection to Abraham . Like your friend here does.

Without Abraham and Ishmael there will be no Mecca and no Kaba.

Without Mecca nor Kaba nor arabs that decends from Ishmael there will be no Muhammed . and Thus no Islam .

I have no clue where you get your information but i am sad that you are feeding myths that some would use it against your own religion.

I think that I need to clarify something here.

While I was merely stating that the terms “children of Abraham” and “children of Ishmael” do not appear in the Qur’an, I am NOT however saying that the inhabitants of Arabia are not likely to be the descendants of Abraham and Ishmael (peace be upon them).

In fact, the Bible itself more or less gives testimony that they are as can be seen in my previous posts below concerning Kedar, one of the sons of Ishmael (pbuh).

Yes I agree with you. Some times I feel that talk is useless.
But if we don’t say the truth to others who listen, we are wrong.
In this thread , I tried to invite others who Beleive on the same
God like us , but understand him differently, only to reflect .
And I leave to God The work to change the minds and the
hearts. I am a christian Catholic, and I am proud of it.
