An ***excellent Christian apologist, Greg Koukl, ***will be debating **Deepak Chopra **this Saturday April 30 on the the TV show Faith Under Fire. If you are like me and get frustrated by the fact that Chopra is hardly ever challenged on his, um, questionable views, then you will enjoy this a lot!

I was at an event recently, and I got to see a 13-minute preview clip. I knew the people on this forum would definitely want to know about this. Enjoy!

In case you didn’t know … Faith Under Fire (web site) is a show on PAX-TV (web site). It is hosted by Lee Strobel (The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith). Every week they discuss various topics relating to religion, faith, and/or culture, and they present scholarly, knowledgeable guests to defend Christianity and the Christian worldview (no phony baloneys).

Greg Koukl is not a Catholic, but he and his organization (Stand to Reason (web site)) are excellent, and they provide great resources. Along with Catholic Answers, they’ve been quite helpful to me.

I’m really surprised that Chopra agreed to do this show. I can’t wait to see it this Saturday. In case anybody is wondering about the time, it comes on at 9 PM central time on Pax TV on Saturday, April 30.

Will someone please post on how it went in case we can’t watch? (the little ones in my home make appt. TV difficult sometimes… …)
Thanks!!

Is it 10PM EST??? just need to know Thanks

Kaymart: Yesy, 9pm Central is 10pm Eastern. I’ll be looking forward to watching. It would be nice to see more posts alerting us to relavent topics and people on stations we have access to; it is most helpful for those of us in non-Catholic areas without EWTN.

Everybody who has internet access, has access to EWTN 😃

If you’d like to watch EWTN , click this website, and at the top it says “television”

ewtn.com/

Enjoy!

Unfortunately, being canadian, I can’t seem to get PAX . I went to their website, and it doesn’t have an option to type in a “postal code” only a “zip code” 😦

Chopra is this clown:

I just looked that sight over. Scanned briefly, reallyl. Read the mission statement and about Chopra. Didn’t see anything anti-Catholic or anything. Couldn’t see where there was any christian based beliefs either. Is this guy athiest? Does he attack Catholics?

It’s on at 9 here in Mountain time too, for anyone in my time zone!

Thank for the heads up. Never heard of either person was an interesting discussion. *Chopra stated that Christianity started with Constintine. *

Where do they get that?

Poor history 😦 . Most attrubute the idea on the fact that Constantine issued the Edict of Milan in 313 stopping the outright persecution of Christians by the Western Roman Empire (along with Licinius of the East). Here’s a link below to the Edict in English. Thanks and God Bless.

He also stated that western Christianity was adapted from myth, and that he doesn’t get his religion from a book (Bible).

I found those statements interesting since he writes many gnostic books regarding higher consiousness.
