Sweet Merciful Jesus, though you knew of your death which was to come for us, it gave you no pause in loving others freely and fully throughout your time on earth.
Remember your tears in mourning for Lazarus, (John 11:35),
remember your tears in love for Jerusalem (Matthew 23:37), and remember your tears from Your Passion for us (Hebrews 5:7).
We ask that you protect the faith of those who mourn from ever doubting your goodness and mercy.
Almighty Father, while He walked among us, your Son promised to His followers, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). Now we beseech you to send the Comforter to descend upon Stylteralmaldo’s brother and the families of each of those who have gone on to their reward. Hold them to You, and bless their tears with the knowledge that their sorrow will one day be turned into joy when we are united with You in Heaven.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
