My Church doesn’t give the congregation the Blood of Christ, only to the Priest himself. He gives only the Body of Christ to us. Don’t they go hand in hand? Like you’re not receiving Jesus totally?
No, it’s not necessary because in receiving either the host or from the chalice you are receiving Christ entire. My Church doesn’t give the congregation the Blood of Christ, only to the Priest himself. Matthew 26:27
Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.

The Eucharistic presence of Christ begins at the moment of the consecration and endures as long as the Eucharistic species subsist. Christ is present whole and entire in each of the species and whole and entire in each of their parts, in such a way that the breaking of the bread does not divide Christ.207
but He also says “take this, all of you and eat it, this is my body”
Yup–the all of you was to the Apostles, our first Bishops and priests.
Who was present with our Lord Jesus at the Last Supper. Was it not the Apostles. The all of you–was said to the Apostles–who became our first priests/Bishops. They (the priests/Bishops) still receive both species.Walking_Home

Did you look up the Utraquist heresy?
The Church, centuries ago, stopped giving the Chalice to the lay faithful to correct the misunderstanding you seem to have (based on your post here). The Eucharist is not the dead body and blood of Christ. It is the living, resurrected body and blood of Christ. A living body is not living for very long unless it has blood. Blood doesn’t stay alive for very long outside of a body. Since Jesus has died, and risen again- and will never die again, the body and blood cannot be separated. The Eucharist we receive in the Host is as complete as it is in the chalice. The chalice is often only received by the priest for practical reasons- it’s not always good to have one person drinking from the same cup, and when a liquid is being distributed, there is always the risk of spilling it. When that liquid happens to be the Body and Blood of Christ, that’s more of a problem than just a stained carpet or a slippery mess. A dropped host is much simpler to deal with- the priest just picks it up, and makes sure no crumbs fell (which there shouldn’t be any, if the hosts are of good enough quality). My Church doesn’t give the congregation the Blood of Christ, only to the Priest himself. His/her point was, why do non-priests receive AT ALL, since Jesus said “take this, all of you” to the Apostles about the “bread” and the “wine”. In other words, if “take this, all of you, and drink from it” is exclusive to the Apostles (bishops/priests), why is the “take this, all of you, and eat it” not exclusive to them?Who was present with our Lord Jesus at the Last Supper. That might be true, but then I’ve never seen any Byzantine Catholics complaining when the Liturgy of the PreSanctified Gifts is offered. No, they have universally been grateful to be recieving Our Lord in the Mystery of the Eucharist in any form whatsoever. The Byzantine Churches (Catholic and Orthodox) DO receive under both kinds as a matter of fact, and NOBODY has accused them of holding to the Ultraquist heresy…

Exception–usually babes in arms receive only the Precious Blood.
And all the laypeople (I hope) who are present don’t do that either - those who are in mortal sin certainly need to refrain, same with those who haven’t fasted for an hour before Communion, those who aren’t Catholic, kids who haven’t made their first Communion and so on …but He also says “take this, all of you and eat it, this is my body”
So I’m not understanding what you mean…
Because Jesus said ‘unless you eat the flesh of the son of Man and drink His blood you will not have life within you’. That much is true.His/her point was, why do non-priests receive AT ALL, since Jesus said “take this, all of you” to the Apostles about the “bread” and the “wine”.
