He said he didn’t believe in God, and I am the only sibling who regularly attends church. We were raised evangelical though inactive. What should I do? My parents will get mad at me for indoctrinating him. (they are only tolerant of my faith though I think they think I’m a heretic) My big bro is agnostic my big sis is irreligious though Christian I think. Please pray for my family, what should I do? My big brother is convinced Christianity is false (I’ve done all I can I’m just hoping for a miracle)

Be the best Catholic you can be and set a good example. Then accept your brother’s free will to either see the good of the faith or not.

As sorry as I am your parents don’t see your religious beliefs as a good thing, it is their child and their choice to raise him as they see fit. Also, the fact that you are the only Catholic in your family is actually quite common. The faith is not a hallmark advertisement where we all agree

Acts 16:31 They answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Romans 11:28 As regards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved, for the sake of their ancestors; 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 Just as you were once disobedient to God but have now received mercy because of their disobedience, 31 so they have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now receive mercy. 32 For God has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may be merciful to all.

33 O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord?Or who has been his counselor?”35 “Or who has given a gift to him,to receive a gift in return?”36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.

Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; 21 keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads toeternal life. 22 And have mercy on some who are wavering;

Be a good example. Be a good Catholic. Pray for them.

Respect your parents and how they have decided to raise their children.

When you are both adults, you can talk to him as an adult about the faith. Until then, do not initiate such discussions. Answer questions if he asks, but don’t undermine your parents.

Like others have said, be a good example of good behavior and prayer. When your little brother is ready, he will come ask you questions. In the meantime, entrust the matter to God.

He’s eleven. Do you still believe some of the things you said when you were that age? When I was a teenager, I said I was a Buddhist. I’m not now and not sure I was then.

Why would he believe in God?

There are quite a few good reasons to believe in God, have you told him these reasons? Has he tried living as though God we’re real?

Difficult to believe in the sea if born in the middle of a desert 🐫

That’s around the time when I started losing my faith as well. My advice would be to take him seriously and don’t write it off as a phase. Encourage him to ask questions to priests and such when he has them, and try not to make him feel guilty or ashamed to have these thoughts
