I spoke to my priest, and he told me I was evangelizing and not even realizing it. I use the sign of the cross to say grace, and use it to end grace. I do it publicly, and have done so in 3 or 4 states here in the USA. Anyone else interested in evangelizing with this style?

I love it!! I’m in the business world and I do the sign of the Cross and say grace (very discreetly) before I eat during working lunches. I’ve had people quietly come up to me after the meeting and say that they saw me and thanked me for doing that. That I inspired them to do the same and to not be afraid of showing their faith in public. I was fired up to be used by The Lord like that!

One other thing is that at work there is a lot of swearing. I choose not to and you’d be amazed how many people notice. Sometimes it’s the simplest things we do in life that can be evangelizing!!

Sweet! A few weeks ago when I was done, a mother said “are you Catholic?” I was like, “yes?” She said, “oh, that’s great, my daughter does that now, she goes to Catholic school!” I was like, “oh, that’s awesome” with a big smile. A short time later, her daughter came by and she said, “show me what you learned in school.” She made the sign of the cross and said, “he does that too.” Her daughter was really young and said, “did you see me do that in school?” I said, aww, no dear, I learned it in my Sunday school when I was five." It was adorable. I’ve been doing this for a while, but that was the first time I got called out. 🙂

There is no discretion on our part. My wife and unapologetically say grace with the sign of the cross at every meal no matter where we are. we are not loud but we do not disguise it in any way. Most people seem to care less and if they have an issue keep it to themselves though I have never even seen a harsh look.🤷

I also maintain a number of good Catholic tracts like CAs excellent…

and OSVs Top Ten Questions Catholics are Asked and always leave on with the check and tip when dining out or just give them to people I encounter as I do my running around. We went to street party one time and ran into a bunch of n-C evangelists using Chick trash tracts and they got a pretty funny look on their face when I said “Sure! Let’s swap!” and walked off to find a trash can.

Yes! I used to do this without fail, but fell away from it years ago. Now if I even eat a candy bar, let alone a meal, I stop and say grace and cross myself. I was a little self-conscious about it at first, but I do it without a second thought now.

I’ve had people notice and mention it at work (in a nice way :)) but I’ve never had anyone say anything to me in public. I’d love to have it spark a conversation and chance to evangelize!

Preach the gospel at all times, use words if necessary
