Partt 1,

Valtiel,

More questions to ask your Baptist inquisitors:
  1. Why can Baptists only agree on 5 things in all the Scripture? Most agree on a 6th point. Ask them what they are and why.
2.Where is Sola Scriptura (the Bible alone) in Scripture? Chapter and verse please.
  1. Where is infant Baptism prohibited in Scripture? Chapter and verse please.
  2. Where is the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) prohibited in Scripture? Chapter and verse please.
  3. Why do Baptist not believe what the early Church believed?
  4. If Jesus never changes, why do Baptist morph beliefs?
  5. If the Bible is against schism, why do Baptists schism at every wind change? (See Cor)
  6. Why have the Baptists stopped growing in the US? http://www.adherents.com/
  7. Why are Mormons, Buddhists, Islamic, Hindu, Baha’I, Scientology, Church of Christ, etc. all growing faster then Baptists in the US? http://www.adherents.com/rel_USA.html
  8. Why is there a higher percentage of sexual abuse in clergy in the Baptist sect then in the Catholic Church? (Catholic Church is organized and has pockets to get sued and Baptists don’t? Anti-Catholic bigotry? Etc.) http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0405/p01s01-ussc.html
http://www.reformation.com/
  1. If Jesus made wine (at the command of His mother Blessed Mary and against His will) as His FIRST miracle, why are Baptists opposed to wine? (Gluttony is wrong not the use)
  2. Why did Baptists burn and drown so many witches in the US and Europe? http://www.hopeint.org/off/9705b.htm
  3. Why are some Baptists allowing PRACTICING homosexuals to be ordained ministers? (I know of three of them)
  4. If Jesus was our top Priest and was Celibate, why do Baptist clergy not follow HIS example?
  5. Just for fun. http://thetruthmainly.tripod.com/1998/19980713.html

Part 2,
  1. If the Baptists are right, why do they have so many sects and schism so often? Which one is right? All the others are wrong by definition if only one is right!
  2. Who gave Baptists the power to judge us and themselves on salvation? I thought Jesus did this?
  3. Are they Calvinist or not and why?
  4. If Baptists are for life, why do so many support abortion through the Pill and IUD’s? Is life at conception or not? Was Jesus wrong? http://members.aol.com/insight944/APOL/Contracep.html
  5. Why do some Baptists now believe in Subordinationism. (The Holy Spirit is subservient to Jesus who is subservient to the Father. Like a family. Not the same as the Trinity!)
  6. Do all Baptists agree with what your Baptist friends say? Which disagree on what issues and why? How do they know what they say is correct and not the other Baptists that say something else?
  7. Learn what these words mean and how Baptists use them different then Catholics:
Pray means ‘to ask’ or make a humble request. By this definition prayer does not have to be directed to God alone. So Roman Catholics do pray to Blessed Mary since it is only a humble request and nothing more.

Worship means reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power; an act of expressing such reverence, a form of religious practice with its creed and ritual, extravagant respect or admiration or devotion. By definition we can worship someone deserving of our admiration or devotion even though they are not God by any means. We can also worship God. So Roman Catholics do worship God and worship Blessed Mary also. There is nothing at all wrong with this Tradition using this definition.

Venerate means to regard with reverential respect or with admiring deference or to honor with a ritual act of devotion. Based on this Roman Catholics do in fact venerate Blessed Mary as well as our parents, great people in history like the apostles, and Christian martyrs. These people have a special place in our hearts.

Adore means to worship or honor as a deity or as divine with loving admiration and devotion. Based on this definition Roman Catholics adore God and God alone!

Honor a showing of usually merited respect or one whose worth brings respect or fame
  1. Do we need a Bible? What about all those after Jesus that didn’t have one for hundreds of years because the Catholics hadn’t yet but the first one together? There was no printing press before the 1400’s so who could print them anyway? Oh yea, most people couldn’t read so what good was the Bible outside mass to them? This must explain why we have statues! They remind us of stories just like in Baptist pictures and books today! Why do they think everyone is as lucky as them in past history and around the world?
Is that enough for a start? Study Catholic websites on Mary, Faith Alone, the 7 Sacraments, Bible History, and purgatory. You know they’ll hit you up on those. But don’t give em the chance. Keep asking questions and let them use up the time so you can get better prepared for next time. TAKE NOTES!

You may not be a good evangelizer at first but with practice you’ll get better. Practice, read, study, research, plan questions and responses and then get back with them for more.

Oh yeah, when evangilizing with Bible tumbers you should read the NT at least 4 times before talking with them.

This site is a parody on the Baptists. They do a great job too. It takes most people days to realize it’s not real!:rotfl:

WARNING, some material is so Baptist it may be unfit and unsafe for Catholics to view! Seriously though, some stuff is adult content.

vazltiel,

In my opinion, that is way too much to put on yourself in one discussion. I would try to narrow it to one topic, two at the most.

This is very true. I just gave you food for thought and for future evangelization needs. Stick to 1 or 2 topics at a time when possible as I told you earlier.😉
