My friends were raised catholic educated in school catholic and 50% now non catholic. why are catholics . fallen away?

You really think where the priest enters the church has an effect on people leaving the church??

It is something which is dictated by the rules, so those who made the change can be presumed to have considered the effect.

Catholics fall away because of a lack of a livey interior life with God.

No furnace of love. No generosity and constancy in their prayer life.
Infrequent or indifferent approach to the Sacraments. No prep. No love, no gift of self in order to receive the divine life of God.

No practice of the presence of God during the day.

Little study of the faith…no ongoing plan of formation…of doctrine, of how to live the spiritual life, no ascetical practices.

They simply do not see that to be a Catholic means climbing up joyfully to meet Jesus on the Cross every day.

Then you know what happens; the Church will be called “hypocritical” for bending. You think someone might say, “oh they are finally in line with what i believe”. But it doesn’t happen.

Puts the focus of attention upon the person of the priest.

The focus of attention should be on Jesus and on the joint worship … the priest AND the people … upon Jesus. AND on the act of TRANSSUBSTANTIATION.

That’s certainly true enough. But the matter hasn’t really been looked at enough to really know.

For every action, there is a reaction- it isn’t like you can make a big change and everything else just remains the same.

That and I feel many have it forced on them. I never had it forced on me by my parents. My mom was the teacher for my classes in religious education, but I was never forced to do anything. I was lucky and just felt at home and at peace in church. I know I was antsy as child, but who isn’t Teaching kids why is important, I was lucky my natural thoughts and feelings were right in line with the church’s teachings when I looked into them. Or at least on the right track. I wonder how things will be with my children someday, when I finally meet a wife.
