How does one bring back one’s friends to the church and restore the faith that was lost?

one friend who is catholic believes there is something but finds it hard to believe its the Christian-Judeo God.

One Friend has lost faith altogether.

I am very concerned for their salvation and it hurts me to see the Holy Mother Church lose her other children as well especially in this era of the church. It’s as if you lost a brother (not by blood or close friendship but by faith like losing family) help? How do you convert them back?

I don’t know, but just to toss some ideas around…

They wouldn’t accept it if you just told them what you believe, and why you believe, but it may be possible for you to start them thinking and searching for themselves. Ask them “What is the meaning of life? What’s it all about?”

Then just listen. See what they are thinking.

You see, it’s not just an opening line so you can tell them what the meaning of life is. They need to hear the question, and they need to want an answer, they need to seek the truth, and they need to take ownership of it. At times you can help them, but first you have to listen to what they have to say.

@pegasusu you don’t convert them back .

That is God’s work .

We can be instruments in the “hands of God” cooperating with God’s work .

How can we be good instruments ?

By being faithful to our Baptism by faithfully living in the Spirit , by faithfully participating in the Sacraments , by living as ones reborn as sons and daughters of God , by being true to our identity as members of Christ, incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission .

You should pray for them, first and foremost.

And then set a good example yourself, and be open to talk to them about any issues they are having with their faith.
