Thanks for your prayers.
2 years ago my Grandma had a stroke and has had her ups and downs since… we thought we were loosing her in April… though she pulled through and over the summer was doing so well. So when I got the call Thursday morning, I was shocked.
Nana died peacefully in her sleep last Thursday morning at 85.
I am the oldest grandchild & DS is the only great-grandchild. This is my Mother’s mother and my Mom died of cancer when I was 18, so…
My son took this better than last year, when MIL passed away and did not have as many questions, as he knew what to expect. Also he did part of the Eulogy with me and another cousin, he also did part of the prayers of the faithful with my sister. And was a pallbearer (stood right in front of the coffin leading). He was very proud doing all this fro Great-Grandma.
My sister had gone to World Youth Day and was visiting my Aunt in England after and was due back on Sunday, but she ended up coming back Friday afternoon and made it for part of the wake and the funeral on Saturday morning.
Though now DS and me will miss the time on the weekends that we used to spend at the nursing home with Nana.
Tomorrow is Nana’s sister’s 90th birthday, the party has been cancelled, but DS & self plan on going to wish Aunty. I feel 90 is an achievement and Nana would want that as last year she went with me and DS to wish her sister.
May she rest in Peace.
