From time to time I like to take antiphons & put them on my calendar with alerts to pop up throughout the day. It helps me to remember the reality of God.

My current antiphon is, “My helper is my God, I will place all my trust in Him.”

Which is cool. My problem is I also have a habit of saying, “Immaculate heart of Mary, I place all my trust in you.” Whenever the way is dark or unclear.

I don’t think I’m being scrupulous. Most of the time I don’t even think of the conflict. But sometimes I do. How do I put all my trust in God, and put all my trust in Mary’s Immaculate heart?

Mary’s Immaculate Heart puts all of her trust in God.

Mary always does the will of God. God doesn’t mind if you put all your trust in both him and her.

Anyway when you put your trust in Mary or a saint, it’s trusting that they will intercede for you and will help you in a way that God allows them to do. As long as you are not treating the saint like a little god or goddess, and are making sure to pray the proper homage to God, then God is not going to get bothered if you told Mother Mary or even St. Michael or St. Jude or St. Joseph etc that you placed all your trust in them.

Just had a thought.

Basically what you’re saying got me to thinking this is His plan. I put all my trust in Her, it is right & just because He put her at His right hand.

Affirming the good work he’s done in her is recognizing, affirming, & conforming to His Holy Will.

I trust in her, because I trust in Him.

Does that make sense?

Yes, that makes sense.

When St. Pope JPII said “Totus tuus” referring to Mary, it didn’t mean that he was somehow not trusting in God, or trusting in God less. It just meant that he was following the path of Ad Jesum Per Mariam.

I would add one more thing: maybe you read it, maybe not, but I suggest you True Devotion to Blessed Virgin Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. Giving trust to Mary is giving trust to Jesus, same is with all works and things we give to Mary
2.3. She presents these good works to Jesus Christ; for she keeps nothing of what is given for herself, as if she was our last end. She refers it all faithfully to Jesus. If we give to her, we give necessarily to Jesus; if we praise her or glorify her, we at once praise and glorify Jesus. As of old, when St. Elizabeth praised her, so now, when we praise and bless her, she sings herself, Magnificat anima mea Dominum
