Did you read the encyclical? Not to get on your bad side or anything, but you don’t think that you might be a little too wary of certain groups?
HUMANUM GENUS
ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII
ON FREEMASONRY
vatican.va/holy_father/leo_xiii/encyclicals/documents/hf_l-xiii_enc_18840420_humanum-genus_en.html
I am speaking of avoiding any group that is contrary to the Faith.avoiding any group that isn’t officially sanctioned by the church seems a bit much.
The Masons have that as their grand secret plot, and that is not speculation. The Pope made it known. While I know you’ve never expressed that directly, it feels from your posts that you think of these groups as subverting the one True Church and secretly wanting to destroy it.
Anything pursuing naturalism is contrary to the spirit of the Gospel. When an organization is founded on such a principle, though, like wiccans, then we must either convert them or oppose them.
March of Dimes says it fights birth defects, but what many do not know is that they support abortion (via Planned Parenthood) at the same time. Very deceptive. But they are so popular, that we who oppose abortion find ourselves unwittingly helping it for lack of knowledge. But since it has such good will among people, they do not wish to make it widely known.
It is all an issue of being careful not to waste our efforts.
You won’t see the secret actions. The Pope said their works of “charity” are a front to conceal them within society.Until I see some grave action taken by them,
Why not prefer ones that promote the true Faith?I won’t refuse to help or serve in any organization that helps people.
Helping peoples’ souls is more important than helping their bodies. Try to help people without causing detriment to the mission of the Church. Don’t aid and abet the enemies of true religion. It is not selfish to prefer Catholic help, it is logical. The Catholic Church isn’t just one of many, it is the only source in this world of supernatural life.It seems counterproductive and selfish to say that only Catholic help is good help.
Sometimes helping people is just a kind of self-promotion, especially in today’s society where advancement requires you to have good will with the community. Those in corporate jobs will be pressured to participate, and this is just another way the people’s faith is undermined. Remember,
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
