Are anyone of y’all on this site. I think its pretty cool, You’ll get these friends on there and you can cooment them whenever you want. Its just fun. Oh! I see you’re from Lubbock Texas! I have a really good friend that lives there. 😃 Nice Space! 🙂 I don’t have the patience really to get one going for myself though.
 
usually, I hate such kind of internet communities such as that, although I did have a blogging fervour during the summer, and subscribed myself to MSN Spaces and Blogger, which I prefer the latter for its versality and simplicity, although I know slim-to-nothing on HTML or any java-script for that matter.
 
My oldest son has a MySpace.com website. He’s constantly changing the look of it. On the one hand, it’s great he’s learning about doing simple, template-type webpages.

But my biggest beef about the website is the type of stuff that’s being posted on there. I understand about the youth and their need for self-expression. But the contents on this site can be quite offensive, and very self-centered. I’m constantly voicing my objections to pics, ideas, posts, music, etc. that my son comes across on this site, and if he shows me something that I feel is offensive, I don’t mince words about it to him. :mad:

As parents, we’ve got to really do our best to monitor our children when they get on the internet.

Okay, Tazgurl - I signed up two nights ago and am still trying to figure out how to navigate it! My youngest daugther wanted me to sign up and I felt it was a good way to get to know her better and her friends. She told her friends about me so they would ask to be my friends.

Like one of the other moms here said I am not sure of the content all the time but do recognize that there are a lot of College students there, some away from home for the first time so they might feel more comfortable posting stuff that they would never post while living at home - and probably will grow out of soon.

Maybe the two of you who are on (Tazgurl and JMJ-Pinoy) can help this young-old lady figure it all out :cool:

I just started one to meet up with old school friends and cousins who live in different states. I think it is pretty fun to a point but I do agree that MANY spaces are morally degrading. It is sad how young these kids are.

I guess Myspace can be a bit addicting sometimes. I’m more addicted, though, to these forums! 😃
 
I had one… until someone started posting hurtful comments on my blog and making my MySpace a spectacle of her wrath. I figured it wasn’t worth fighting about, so I deleted it… gees, some of the vindictive people you find in this world!
