As some of you know from my recent posts, while my beloved aunt (my dad’s only surviving sibling) has been dying and is in hospice and expected to pass at any time, my stepmother (who, along with my dad, had gone out to be with my aunt) had to have emergency gall bladder surgery. There were complications and she had to have a second surgery, but she just faded away, and died during the night.
The whole family is completely distraught. If my dad goes back home (they live many, many states away from my aunt) to bury his wife, he likely won’t be there for his sister when she dies. And he’s 86 years old.
All of us need prayers, but especially my dad and aunt. I think I’m still in shock - I just can’t believe this has happened.
