I was chosen to be on a new team for my job. they changing our work hours. I could be put on a shift that works 3, 12 hour days friday saturday and sunday. the hours are from 6 am - 6:30 pm. I can find only two church’s with a mass at 7 pm. I doubt that I could make it there on time for mass. know that I live in south texas, and work in the heat, not to mention being greasy. what do you think I should do??

Speak to your parish priest. This is not as uncommon as you think, especially in the case of police officers, fire fighters, doctors, nurses, and kitchen workers. He may have inside info you don’t have access to. If nothing else, he can offer you a dispensation. Also, discuss your shift with your employer. You say you “may” be put on a particular shift. Perhaps you could arrange to leave early on Sunday. Good luck and may God bless you.

Go to mass. Even if you are sweaty and dirty and in work clothes and arrive a few minutes late, it is infinitely times better that you attend than that you don’t. Not only is it the greatest experience one can have in this life, it is a mortal sin if you miss a sunday mass (unless you cannot make it to mass for reasons out of your control)

That being said these are the churches I could find with good mass times (check them out before a sunday to make sure they still exist and that the times are still the same, I have never been to any of them)
