Genealogy, in order from Adam to Noah, with the English equivalent in parenthesis:

God (the God)

Adam (Man)
**Seth **(appointed)
Enosh (mortal man)
Kenan (sorrow is born)
Mahalalel (The glory of God)
Jared (shall come down)
Enoch (instructing)
Methuselah (his death brings)
Lamech (those in despair)
**Noah **(comfort and rest)

Literally, it reads:

The God - Man - appointed - mortal man - sorrow is born
The glory of God - shall come down - instructing
His death brings - those in despair - comfort and rest

In a more English syntax it could read:

The God-Man is appointed. A mortal man of sorrow is born. The glory of God shall come down to instruct us. His death will bring those in despair comfort and rest.
*
Continuing on with the rest of the 80 names in Jesus’ genealogy, it reads like this:*
Code:
The fame of the stronghold of Babylon, and sorrow, extend their borders like a plant beyond the place of division. But I will make Babylon fade away!
A friend also branches out, enraged with fury!
A glorious father, the father of a great multitude laughs as he outwits. A righteous prince sees God! A mighty one fights! He joins himself to an assembly, a glorious people whom he rescued, stranger in a strange land, captives delivered by God!
One who praises the Lord breaks open a way into a safe place that is surrounded by a high wall.
My people who belong to the prince, a prophet clothed with strength and who serves the Lord, is here! Out of love, this beloved one paid the price for peace in order to set the people free, bringing them into a spacious land.
My Father is the Lord, the healer of him whom the Lord judged and then raised up. The Lord has taken hold of me and the Lord is strong! Mighty is the Lord! My strength and help are in the Lord! The Lord is perfect! I took hold of the strength of the Lord and it made me forget my misery. Truly, (I am) the Master Builder whom the Lord God healed, whom the Lord raised up, whom the Lord upholds, did uphold and will uphold!
I have asked God about the ransomed of the Lord --- those exiled in Babylon. My Father is awesome! God will raise up a helper, the Just One will the Lord raise up! God is my praise! God is the One who helps. May the Gift of Jacob increase in greatness, for God is with us --- the Messiah and Savior of those called out.

Here is another interesting one to ponder:

Genesis, first sentence reads :“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

In Hebrew that is:
**
א בְּרֵאשִׁית, בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים, אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם, וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ.
**
Reading that backwards (In Hebrew, of course):

Behold My Double, Moses, My Double!
Shall I not multiply whom I did multiply?

(The word “Double” means “Twin” here.)

That is mysterious… almost as if those names had been invented to support a specific story!!! 😉

What you seem to not realize is that this is in the Old Testament, which is the Jewish Bible.

It is in what is called the* Book of Genesis*.

There is a theory that explains it all actually…

I am a biology major, so I do know a thing or two about evolution!

First of all, this post was for fellow Christians. Second of all, it has nothing to do with evolution.
Third of all, it concerns a God-man savior message in the book of Genesis.

No offense, but this has nothing to do with atheists or evolution. 🙂

Nobody has anything to say about my post?

No skeptics to refute the painfully obvious?

This is interesting, Shoe. I’d have to know Hebrew to satisfy my inner skeptic on the point, but I think there may be something to it. 🙂
Er… yes…?
Jews would have no motive to posit a God/Man, certainly not one that suffered.

My opinion:

The Bible is an integrated message system, the product of supernatural engineering. Every number, every place name, every detail every jot and tittle is there for our learning, our discovery, and our amazement. Truly, our God is an awesome God.

It is astonishing to discover how many Biblical controversies seem to evaporate if one simply recognized the unity the integrity of these 66 books, penned by 40 authors over thousands of years.

It is remarkable how many subtle discoveries lie behind the little details of the text.

Look behind every detail: there’s a discovery to be made! God always rewards the diligent student.
