when your saying the rosary…do you offer up the whole rosary for your prayer intentions or do you offer up each individual decade?🙂

also how do you personally “meditate” on the mysteries?

do you have any tips for saying the rosary?

how long does it take you to say 5 decades??🙂

I will usually offer up a decade for a particular intention. To do one full set of mysteries will generally take about 20 minutes, but I’ve found that it can take up to an hour or more, depending on how focussed I become. As for how I meditate…I find that my mind tends to wander a LOT so I took the advice of someone here on CAF to help me visualize with each Hail Mary, what mystery I was supposed to be focussed on. For example, when praying the sorrowful mysteries…“Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus…who was in agony in the garden.”

I usually offer up a whole rosary for my intentions.

To meditate, it is helpful for me to use a little booklet or pamphlet with pictures with have fruit of the mystery to meditate on. For example, the first joyful mystery is the Annunciation, think of a desire for humility. The second joyful mystery is the Visitation, think of love of neighbor, etc…I also try to picture our Blessed Mother there with me as I pray the Hail Mary.

Tips: I find it easier sometimes to look at my rosary booklet and see pictures of each mystery to keep focused. I also recently found savior.org which has live image of the Blessed Sacrament. Keep in mind it doesn’t replace visits to the Blessed Sacrament but it’s a beautiful image of our Lord. I have prayed the rosary with this site open on my computer.

It takes me an average of 25-30 minutes to complete the rosary depending on how long I meditate.
