Good evening,
I wasn’t sure whether to post this with the Eastern Catholicism, but I thought I would try in here so as to be sure of getting a Roman answer! I am looking to do some study on ascetical/mystical theology, and had read of the textbooks of Fr Tanquerey. It seems, though, that these do not deal much with the mystical theology of the Fathers. Can anyone recommend a good text which introduces the mystical theology of this period, including the East. I was recommended Lossky, and would be interested to know how people think this sits with Roman Catholicism (my background).

Check out the lecture series entitled “Mystical Theology” by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware. It is available from oltv.tv. Although Met. Kallistos is Orthodox, the Fathers he quotes are all recognized as great spiritual Fathers by both Eastern and Western Catholics. The series itself is wonderful.
 
HI there, thanks very much. The only ones I can see are by Metrpolitan Kallistos of Diokleia. Are those the ones?
