When is one,s name written in The Book of Life as referred to in Rev. 13 8. Is it at birth or when one repents of their sin and is converted to follow Jesus Christ?

One’s name is written into the Book of Life when one receives the “seal of eternal life” through the Sacrament of Baptism.**Catechism of the Catholic Church

An indelible spiritual mark . . .

1272 ** Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated.

1273 Incorporated into the Church by Baptism, the faithful have received the sacramental character that consecrates them for Christian religious worship. The baptismal seal enables and commits Christians to serve God by a vital participation in the holy liturgy of the Church and to exercise their baptismal priesthood by the witness of holy lives and practical charity.

1274 The Holy Spirit has marked us with the seal of the Lord (“Dominicus character”) “for the day of redemption.” “Baptism indeed is the seal of eternal life.” The faithful Christian who has “kept the seal” until the end, remaining faithful to the demands of his Baptism, will be able to depart this life “marked with the sign of faith,” with his baptismal faith, in expectation of the blessed vision of God - the consummation of faith - and in the hope of resurrection.

Peace be with you!

In fact, BEFORE THE BAPTISM OF THE SPIRIT, our Lord tells the disciples that their names are written in Heaven:

“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” ( Luke 10:20 )

Your name is written in the Book of Life when you receive LIFE. You receive Life BY FAITH ( when you believe ):

“BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH” ( Romans 1:17 )

No, Satan and the fallen angels believe in Jesus. They’re not in Heaven.

Peace be with you!

Psalm45:9:
No, Satan and the fallen angels believe in Jesus. They’re not in Heaven.
  1. You are not saying no to me, but to God, for the verse in the quote is from God.
  2. This verse is not talking about Satan’s faith, but the LIVING faith. It is not talking about a knowledge of mind or the faith as an assent to a certain form of belief or truth WITHOUT total consent, but it talks about the Christian LIVING faith. Satan’s faith is dead.
In Love,

Baptized infants have their name written in the Book of Life.

“And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.” (Luke 1:41-44)

The Bible clearly states that infants can accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. This is an example of Baptism by Desire. There are three different types of Baptism: Desire, Blood, and Water. Water is the most common one. However, many of the martyrs recieved the Baptism of Blood. St. John the Baptist and St. Elizabeth recieved the Baptism of Desire.

But how do you know this verse came from God?
