Check out some of the names and read a little bit about the saint and see if any sparks a chord with your family and especially with the children you already have. For example if you have children named say John and Carol, adding a “Raphaela” might be a bit jarring. Ditto if you have a strong family heritage, say Irish, and you have a Shawn and a Theresa, so adding a “Rosita” or a “Gertrude” might not also fit so well! And take into consideration last names: Some people love to have rhyming names “Gabriella Morella”; others cringe. And if you have a short last name like “Smith”, 'Serafinita" might not work so well as 'Sarah".

If it’s a boy (so far everyone has offered female names), I very much like Samuel, who yes, is a saint–an OT saint and a great example for young men. You may want to use a family name, if that wouldn’t cause any problems in the family. Especially to honor a beloved father or grandfather–if it’s a boy.

St. Bridget arrived in Ireland a few years after St. Patrick. Her father was an Irish lord named Duptace.
As Bridget grew up, she became holier and more pious each day.
She loved the poor and would often bring food and clothing to them.

make up for what she had given away. When she got home, her pail
was full! Bridget was a very pretty young girl, and her father thought
that it was time for her to marry. She, however, had given herself
entirely to God when she was very small, and she would not think
of marrying anyone. When she learned that her beauty was the
reason for the attentions of so many young men, she prayed fervent-
ly to God to take it from her. She wanted to belong to Him alone.
God granted her prayer. Seeing that his daughter was no longer
pretty, her father gladly agreed when Bridget asked to become a Nun.
She became the first Religious in Ireland and founded a convent so
that other young girls might become Nuns. When she consecrated
herself to God, a miracle happened. She became very beautiful again!
Bridget made people think of the Blessed Mother because she was so
pure and sweet, so lovely and gentle. They called her the “Mary of the
Irish.”

Thank you so much for the prayers, we decided on Veronica. I love that name, and when my wife asked the baby she actually threw her whole little body into my wife haha. So it’s no longer our choice! My wife said she almost leaped for joy when she asked her if she liked Veronica.
