I know there are many fans of the Narnia books here, and thought this site might be of interest. It is about the movie which is coming out this year, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that it is a good one.
the trailer will be shown during the harry potter movie broadcast this week (i don’t watch herry, so doubt if I’ll see it. i think it will also be shown before the new Star Wars movie. In the meantime, I’m scouting for any glimpse.

Thank goodness Douglas Gresham is there to keep a rein on things! Let’s hope the marketing aspect doesn’t get away from him as well. I remember hearing on Catholic radio that someone had seen Lord of the Rings tarot cards for sale! Ouch. Maybe there’ll be action figures? My girls would love that!

BTW, anyone have the Wonderworks Narnia on DVD? Is the picture quality any better than the VHS tapes? I have the VHS and it always looks a bit misty or fuzzy, I think from the EP length of the tape. I’m wondering if I should invest in the DVD or not.

I don’t know, Gresham was also monitoring the version of Shadowlands with Anthony Hopkins! :eek:

I’m a bit nervous, I read a brief interview with the director in which he mentioned that he’s basing much of the movie off of his own memories of the book rather than the text itself. But I’m hopeful!
 
www.apple.com select quick time, go to movie trailers, already has a whole group of shorts about what it’s going to look like. I really liked the minotaurs.
 
I’m a member of the discussion forum over there on www.narniaweb.com and I’m generally pretty confident the movie is going in the right direction.

All the footage I’ve seen so far in the brief little snipets they have released looks very well done. As for changes to the story we will have to see.
