Save the date! NCSC 2015 will be held October 23-25, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia!

Dear Fellow Catholic Singles:

I went to the one last year in San Diego and I was very impressed. The content of the conference centered on many issues, primarily Theology of the Body, and the attendance was wonderful, with good representation of Catholics between 25 and 45. (By the way, single Catholics of all ages are invited).

One thing I really liked was the majority present take a sincere interest in their faith. The first one of these I attended I was hesitant to go because I thought it just might be a “singles social event” or an “extended happy hour”, and it turned out to be a great balance between social and spiritual. Had it been an “extended happy hour”, I probably would have left.

The seminars were similar to a retreat, and the Saturday night dance was awesome. I didn’t do much sitting down Saturday night, and most of the ladies present were interested in dancing.

An added bonus is for people reading this who live closer to Atlanta can drive, and won’t need a plane ticket. Therefore, please pass the word to those who live in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina (Charlotte is a great diocese, and only about 4 hours driving distance), and northern Florida.

For more information, The National Catholic Singles Conference has a Facebook Page, and this is a way to get a feel on past conferences. I do recommend attending, and it is a great learning experience, and a good balance between spiritual and social.

Fellow Catholic Singles, one of the organizers, Anastasia Northrup, discussed Singles on Catholic Answers on July 7,2014. I have attached the link here:

Fellow Catholic Singles: at this time, details are being worked out on speakers, hotel, registration, etc., but save the date and tell your friends. If you go with some friends, your cost can go down by sharing hotel rooms and carpooling.

Single Catholics:

This conference is two months away.

The dates are:October 23 through October 25, 2015

The location is: Hilton Atlanta Northeast

The Early Bird Registration ended a few days ago. It sounds like it is filling up pretty well, since they may have to get rooms at a second hotel within walking distance.

The main website is:

nationalcatholicsingles.com/

and you can also use Facebook or Google to find more information. A facebook page is set up. There are many places where driving to Atlanta is feasible, and airfares shouldn’t be too costly. Southwest and Airtran fly to Atlanta, as does Delta.

There are also ways that if you are traveling alone, Facebook and the NCSC website can help you can find roommate referrals - that will help keep your cost down. You can also ask a friend (or friends) to come along, and you can share the cost of the hotel.

It’s like a retreat, with several good speakers. Personally, the ones that I have been to had a good “balance” between spiritual and social. There was also a big dance Saturday night too.

I recommend this for singles.

While a great event, I find it difficult to think that many people would find someone at this event. Perhaps if they had speed dating where singles could give out some contact info. Anywho, thanks for sharing!

One of the warm up activities they had at one of these was speed dating. Dance lessons were given on Saturday night which was also a good way to make some introductions. Most people are friendly, and are willing to share tables at meals too.

I’ve known people who met their spouses at NCSC. One guy is a friend of mine who at the Denver conference in 2012 happened to ask a girl to dance on Saturday night, and the rest is history. They also lived in different states.

Seriously, it’s what you make out of it. If you are willing to take a chance and step out of your circle of friends, you never know what can happen. I met several people at the San Diego Conference by doing this.
