I would urge extreme caution before ingesting any OTC “nutritional supplement” as they are not subject to regulation by the FDA, nor any consistent standards regarding testing, purity or effectiveness. They have been the subject of a multitude of manufacturing flaws and/or contamination–not to mention misrepresentation and outright fabrication as to their promised results and benefits.
We have all been made aware of drugs and vaccines, which have been subjected to screening and effectiveness and safety testing required by FDA standards as well as the (name removed by moderator)ut and prescription by a physician, that nonetheless prove to be dangerous, ineffective or even life threatening over time, through interaction with other drugs or health conditions, misuse, etc. How much more of a risk do you take by consuming an untested, unregulated, unprescribed substance?
