I cant believe this!!!
During the February 22 episode of the NBC-TV sitcom, “Committed,” two non-Catholics are mistakenly given Holy Communion at a Catholic funeral Mass. Nate, who is Jewish, and Bowie, a Protestant, don’t know what to do with the Eucharist, so they make several failed attempts to get rid of it. For example, they try slipping it into the pocket of a priest, dropping it on a tray of cheese and crackers, etc. Please see Link:

This doesn’t surprise me at all. Maybe we just notice these things more being Catholic, but it seems Catholics and Catholic issues are portrayed negatively more than with protestantism. For example, whenever a women has an abortion in a movie or tv show, she is frequently Catholic.

True, the concept was truly offensive. But they did show a knowledge of the Eucharist. Nate said (paraphrasing) “What am I going to do with This? It’s the body of their Savior!”

Stupid concept I know, but they showed they knew what Catholics believe about the Eucharist.

It shouldn’t have been written or aired. I doubt it will air again. SNL has never aired Sinead tearing up the Pope’s picture again.

I agree with Catholic League president William Donohue that the plug needs to be pulled from this show NOW!!!

The world hates Christ who is Truth and truth is what the Catholic Church is. Take pride in the attention we’re getting from the world.
