What do you folks think about this show? Have you seen it yet? So far it’s gotten many folks interested in their faith again that I have spoken with on the internet and in person.

Personally I think it’s pretty good and I love the biblical quotes inbetween segments.

It is entertaining some what…but the Theology in the series stinks…I hope no one is watching it for intellectual purposes.

There seems to be lots of priests and nuns in the show but, in the second episode, if I remember correctly, when asked if the Vatican approved of what they were doing, Sister Jo (or was it the mother superior of the convent) replied, No. I guess there wouldn’t be enough tension in the show if these religious folks were shown being obedient and submissive to their leaders like they should. (Hebrews 13:17)

yeah you can read a little more about the show on the official website. There is a message board and mostly what you folks are saying is on there as well as far as “vatican approval”.

It seems that, after watching the first episode, that they are starting down the road of heresy. Not only with their jaded view of theology do they inaccurately depict the eschatological dimensions of the Christian Faith, but they are also following after what sems to me another Left Behind series, and we all know that, that series is full of heretical statements and misrepresentations.

I’ve seen the first show. I found it interesting, not that I have to believe everything in the show. It’s nice to have a real show on with a little thought, instead of those mindless reality shows.

At least it’s a show on “religion” of somesorts instead of a bunch of housewives cheating on their spouses!

Despite the inaccuracies depicted in the show, it’s a religious “theme” that’s getting on prime time and the main theme is Hope for mankind. You don’t get that on TV much anymore. Heck was the Flying Nun accurate?

Makes me wonder how long it will be before it’s asked to be removed from Primetime as it “offends” someone of no faith!

^ Agree…nothing is ever on television anymore. But, I too wonder how long it will be before our TV’s are drawn into the courtroom because someone said God.

All I know is that the last show I saw they made it look conspicuously like the Vatican tried to have the main characters rubbed out.

Last night’s show terrified me!! It was good and also had me running to the bible to see if that really was in it cause if so, revelations is the scariest book!!!

In the show, a woman was raped by what she called “beasts” and she was pregnant from her attack. When they did the ultrasound the “baby” was a demon. It had wings and gnarly claws and even horns. It was scary.

So far I like it! I agree that at least it is some religion on t.v. and better that all those reality shows!

I haven’t watched it yet but I heard that their was some sort of
attraction between the nun and the male protaganist (is it Bill pullman?). Have you guys seen that because if that’s the case, I don’t think I will watch it.

So if they bash and represent they church on prime time television, it would be ok,. because it is about religion, this is a very bad concept, to have in mind. One other point, the book in the bible entitled Revelations, is mostly about the mass, and the time is broken up into three times, past, present, and future. Keep that in mind

Did anyone else watch this last night?

I think this series is heretical! Anyone else see it???
It was the end last night…
If I am taking it right I’ve only watched once before…
In the beginning episode, they’re asking us to believe that Jesus is born again as a baby from another virgin and the anti-Christ was born in last night’s airing…

Yeah, I’m not too sure about ACTUAL biblical accuracy, but as a TV show, it was decent TV. Having gone into it with such LOW expectations, it managed to exceded them. The marriage of faith and reason was good to see, the nun was great, and Pullman, the skeptical scientist, believed in the end.

Was last night the finale? I liked some things about it…but I’d hate to have our young people think that Jesus is going to come again as a newborn!

Yes, it’s done.

Oh, I didn’t let my kids near the TV last night (Satanic ritual stuff, very very creepy). :bigyikes:

Where does it state otherwise that Jesus will come in any other “state” (i.e. non-newborn)…??? Am curious as to where this is stated in the Bible. I understood him to come again to judge the living and the dead…but it doesn’t say what age?? 3 or 33?? or does it?

The series was entertaining and I think from the folks that watched it that I spoke with that aren’t religious anymore were actually picking up their Bible and reading it again. I guess that’s not a bad thing afterall. The show sparked a lot of curiosity once more in religion since the Passion came out in the media. Let’s not knock it(too harshly) as I think the show was extremely brave for such a “left-wing” network to air in the first place. I think it’s much better programming than Will and Grace.
