Need a book about teenage chastity

I’d like to buy my God-Daughter a book on teenage chastity. She’s a junior.

I know Jason Evert has a couple. Has anyone actually read them? What do you think? Any others?

I strongly second the Raterman book. It is, however, for boys. The best one out there.

I DO love the work that Jason Evert and his wife are doing. I had the privilege of hearing them speak to a group of 500 high school students and they had a tremendous impact on the kids. Jason’s books are great.

I would also recommend a couple of books by Joshua Harris. He is not Catholic, although his books & tapes are available through the Couple to Couple League. He has two books on chastity, “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” and “Boy Meets Girl”. Both are excellent. I would also recommend the audio tape of “I Kissed Dating Goodbye”. I have purchased about 20 over the past 2-3 years and keep giving them out, mainly to parents of my teenage daughter’s friends. The message is definitely for teens, but there is a lot of great information there for parents too.

I have not read Jason and Crystalina Evert, but I have heard GREAT things about all their books!!! I would say go for those! I did read Joshua Harris “I Kissed Dating Goodbye”. I found this book to be way too unrealistic and unreasonable. He took a VERY hardline stance that I don’t think any young kid could live up to. His 2nd book “When Boy Meets Girl” is much better!

I have read " If You Really Loved Me: 100 Questions On Dating, Relationships, And Sexual Purity" It was SUPER awesome…totally broke EVERYTHING down. I gave that book to my whole confirmation class. I have also seen him talk once when my band opened up for him. Him and his wife are soooo influential to the kids. You can listen to his talks on www.catholic.com too. check em out.

I am in a band called Seven Sorrows and we have a song called Regret, dealing with premarital sex, maybe it will help.
