John 9:41 (Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains); and
John 15:22 (If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin).
Many/most Protestants wont read these verses that broadly (I do). I think (don’t know - I’m not Catholic) that the Catholic Catchesim includes some leaway for those who have never heard the gospel - perhaps on this basis (which is consistent with the view that those infants and others not yet at the age of accountability) can find salvation.
