I’m hoping to find a good book with this criteria:

-emphasizes chastity in dating/courtship and marriage
-has Bible passages referenced as support
-offers a decent guide on how to court/discern marriage with a potential spouse
-be readable for a Christian who is not a Catholic (but still has sound Christian wisdom & guidelines)

…this might be asking for a bit much, but hopefully someone can recommend something.

More details:
I have a non-Catholic Christian boyfriend and looking for a book on the topic of courtship for us to read together. I got us each a copy of the book, “Christian Dating in a Godless World” (formerly under the title "Christian Courtship in an Over-sexed World) by Fr. Morrow but not sure it is going to work, at least not for the first book we read together as a couple. This book is heavy in Catholic terminology and references and a bit intimidating for a non-Catholic.

Look at books by Jason Evert. Well written, I think you will really find his writing to be useful.

Yes, Jason Evert is fantastic. Also, look for “Emotional Chastity” by Sarah Swafford. I just read it; it doesn’t have too many Bible references, but it’s a good guide for non-Catholics.

Just as an aside, my daughter went to a talk by Jason Evert and his wife, at a local college and she said it was amazing. I think he is a powerful example to young people.

These are the only books written by a protestant that I have read and highly recommend:
  1. I Kissed Dating Goodbye
  2. Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship
  3. Sex is Not the problem, Lust is.
All written by Joshua Harris. Very easy to understand and straightforward.
