I am looking for suggestions for a book to get my son for his Confirmation. I got my older son Scott Hahn’s book on Mary. I didn’t want to get him the same book, since we now have it in the house. I have a lot of Apologetic type books already here. He has already read a book on his Patron Saint and has a plaque from his Godmother of his Patron Saint. This son is the most spiritual of my children. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

“Living Temples,” by Fr. Bede Jarrett, O.P. A book of about 50 little essays written for teens and young adults about how to be a Catholic man. Written in the early 1900’s, but very readable and pertinent for today’s teens, in this mushy touch-feely world. Excellent advice from everything from the Mass, God, Heaven, Mary, Generosity, Whistling (this one’s interesting!), Sin, Purity, and many others.

I bought the book to read for my young son. I am saving it to present to him on his Confirmation.

You can get a copy at <BooksforCatholics.com>.

Thank you so much! This sounds perfect! That’s very interesting that you would mention whistling. He is in the other room right now, whistling! LOL

God Bless!

George W(??)'s “Letters to a Young Catholic”.

It is an amazing book.

George Weigel. Thanks for the suggestion. I just put the book in my shopping cart at Amazon for my daughter’s confirmation.

Any of Louis de Wohl’s novels would also be excellent. For a young man, I would particularly suggest “The Spear”.

I haven’t received them yet, but I recently placed an order at aquinasandmore.com for copies of Preparing Your Faith For College by Eden and Katherine Foord for three young ladies in my life - my daughter, and two who have asked me to be their sponsor at Confirmation. If anyone else has any information on this book, I’d greatly appreciate it!

U Got 2 Believe! by Fr. Stan Fortuna CFR is EXCELLENT- it totally changed my life and made me love my faith. Plus it’s written in a cool style and has lots of practical tips and cross-referencing to the CCC (which I had never looked at until I read this book) and the Bible.

The New Faithful: Why Young Adults Are Embracing Orthodox Christianity by ?- Inspiring and well-written!

If You Really Loved Me by Jason Evert- awesome q and a’s on chastity, dating, etc.

His Cross in Your Life by Bertrand Weaver- super great book!

Karl Keating’s books are also great- I also like the Surprised by Truth books

Three Approaches to Abortion by Peter Kreeft- great great logical book

Also, does he have his own Bible, CCC, prayer journal? Some encyclicals would be cool too.

I ❤️ Reading!
