The Anglican tradition generally does not subscribe to sola scriptura, and by extension, neither does Methodism. Hooker is rather clear about that.
they claim their beliefs are biblical and they have a commitment to the authority of Scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. they claim controversies of faith has to be faithful to the written word. so how is this not sola?

Anglicanism is a particular Christian tradition born out of the Protestant Reformation in England (16th century). As Anglicans, we value our place in a global communion of churches, our rich history of faith and practice, and a deep commitment to the authority of Scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
While our beliefs are Biblical, orthodox, and reflect the theology of the Protestant Reformation, Anglicans retain some liturgies along with helpful traditions from the early Church

The Church hath power to decree Rites or Ceremonies, and authority in Controversies of Faith: and yet it is not
lawful for the Church to ordain any thing that is contrary to God’s Word written,

As someone who “was raised Episcopalian” (it was a very complicated situation): this seems to be the norm. Of course, I only experienced my particular church, but they have a reputation for this sort of stuff.

I’m a non catholic, yet I’m on here, if that tells you anything , it’s that I’m still seeking truth. That said, I’m not here because I can’t find a church that doesn’t think abortion or homosexuality is sin. I have other reasons.
So, in my experience this is not the norm in all Protestant churches. Although when I attend a service it’s either baptist or non denominational. Hope this helps. God Bless.
