Need cooking help for holiday sweets

Hello, as the Christmas holidays are right around the corner, I want celebrate these times with some nice Christmas cookies with a Catholic theme.

Do you have any advice, websites, etc on where to find a recipe for easy to make cookies that can be decorated to look like the saints, Jesus, and/or other figures from our faith that represent the celebration of our faith? I’m wanting to bake these as a special surprise for my wife. 🙂
 
In a normal cookie cutter set, you might have a star (very Christmasy). A gingerbread lady could easily turn into Our Lady with some blue frosting. (Not sure I want to eat her in cookie form, though.) There are also generally trees and they can be beautifully decorated, but that’s a less theological item.

My husband suggests a fish cookie and the stable animals from the nativity.

I’ve seen Gingerbread nativity cookie cutters, and I feel like I’ve scene a gingerbread nativity set (for the structure) as well. Let me take a look.

I couldn’t find kits for the gingerbread structure, but you could always make a typical gb house and put the characters in it.
 
My family has for generations made Bizcochitos (a Spanish anise flavored sugar cookie with cinnamon sugar on top) in Cross, Star, and Bell shapes. They’re delicious. I don’t like to bite into anise seeds, so we use anise extract and brandy. 🙂
 
Nativity chocolate mol are the way to go!

There’s a website of a sahm/home schooling mom who does great stuff like this…let me see if I can find it for you.

I just did a search for “nativity cookie cutters” on Amazon. Lots to choose from!
