I need help with finding a good talk or video about why contraception is evil, preferably a download.

I haven’t listened to this personally so it I don’t know if it addresses your issues specifically. However you might want to check it out. It is not a download though.

I will see what else I can dig up.

The below link sounds like what you are looking for but seems a little pricey anyway check it out at…

Also… try these…(bare in mind I haven’t listened to any of these so you will have to screen them yourself…) Click on the listen or download tab at top of scree.

Check out Sensus Traditionis. Fr. Ripperger has tonnes of excellent talks, many on contraception, and other things related to it.

Does your diocese have a NFP resource office or coordinator? I was able to get a really wonderful presenter that way.

Thanks all for the info. The reason I was asking for help was because I listened to talk by Fr. Pavone here, catholicaudio.blogspot.com/2009/08/fr-pavone-on-contraception.html, but I was looking into getting something that is more explained why it is evil. I watched RealCatholicTV’s CIA episode on contraception, but it was more about how the Church fell silent on the issue of contraception…not what I am really looking for. I’ll continue to look at catholic audio blog on the rest of the talks that are available there as well as the suggestions given here.

As far as a NFP coordinator, I know that there is a couple responsible at my parish who are responsible for NFP, but honestly, this is something that I have never ever heard announced at my parish from anyone, not that I am ignorant of what NFP is.

I would heartily recommend ‘Catholicism for Dummies’ which, lighthearted as the title sounds, is an excellent resource and has received the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur, which means it contains nothing that would harm the faith of a Catholic. It should answer most questions such as these with sufficient detail and in approachable language.

As someone who is converting and going through RCIA, I would caution you not to talk about why contraception is “evil”, but to focus on the sacrament of marriage and openness to life, and how contraception hinders that. Talking about it as evil is likely to make people feel defensive (because most of the people in that room are probably guilty of using contraception), which will close their hearts and minds to your lesson, and maybe to RCIA in general.

Contraception is something I have really struggled with during my conversion process, and not feeling judged and feeling like I could ask questions in my RCIA group has been hugely beneficial, and has helped me immensely in becoming more open to life in my marriage.

Thank you for your suggestion. I did avoid saying that contraception was evil, the topic came by when I handed them a print out on what mortal sin is and this same print out numerated the types of mortal sin against the 10 commandments, and this happened to be there, of course the questions came by later.

Thank you everyone for your support. I did find an effective talk about contraception. For some reason, Fr. at my parish has let some teenagers enroll in the Cathecumenate as well, most of the people there are adults, but the youngest person I have in there is 13  so I have to get permission from their parents in order to put this talk on 🤷

I am the Safe Environment Coordinator at my parish. I suggest giving the under-age people in your class an opt out form informing the parents what you will be showing and giving them the choice to let their child participate. If the parents want to opt out, then the child doesn’t come to class that evening. You should be able to proceed with or without their consent. I suggest discussing this with your Pastor.

Or, a volunteer can take the 13 yo students to another room and do an alternate lesson with them that is age appropriate.

Thanks, what I decided to do, is give a copy of the talk to the parents and have the class next week with or without them. Plus, this was a great chance to show the parents the Church’s teaching on contraception 😃
