The parish I’m at wants to do a Latin mass for Lent. Unfortunately, we need A) A copy of the roman missal that has the prayers in Latin, and B) The sheet music to properly chant the responses. We’re a poor parish so can’t afford to buy these, does anyone know if they are available online anywhere?

Thanks!
Josh

The Roman Missal the priest uses at the altar will have the Latin prayers in it. They are in an appendix at the back. In my copy of this, The Sacamentary (Catholic Book Publishing Co., New York, 1985) it is at Appendix IV, page 1055.

The 2002 Roman Missal does not change the words to be said by the priest or people (although it adds options like the Apostle’s Creed).

For the musical arrangements, try a copy of the Adoremus Hymnal.

Saw that site already. Although it has the ordinary, it doesn’t have the propers for the day, and only Eucharistic prayer 2.

The adoremus hymnal is costly, hence why I was hoping for something online.

I’ll go ask my pastor to hunt through the appendices.

The Catholic Liturgical Library may be helpful for the mass texts. For the music I would suggest this site which is one of the few I know which contain the chant in MODERN notation as opposed to chant notation.pucpr.edu/diocesis/14Cantoralg.html

P.S. the same site has some choral works also- click on Cantoral at the top. Also check out the Choral Public Domain Library

👍

EDIT: Almost forgot- you can go here for the music/text of any of the propers you may not get on the other site. Only thing is it’s in chant notation.

The Kyriale is here 198.62.75.1/www2/cantgreg/kyriale_eng.html with the chants and the sheet music.

We use VIII (De angelis) with Credo III all year round but there a couple for Lent

Our priest is preparing our parish to have a TLM on August 6th as the only Parish Mass that Sunday. He told us at the TLM this morning that as a start he intends to “reclaim” the Sanctus for the NO Mass.
