Need More Help -- Crusades & Spanish Inquisition

A got a guy claiming that he “would think something like the Crusades or the Spanish Inquisition killed more than 6 million people”. Can somebody please provide me with stats & info that show otherwise?

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much to all who reply & thank you again, if you have previously answered something I should know about the Catholic faith. I cannot thank you enough, really!
 
is this the same guy you talked about earlier? because if it is i’m not sure i’d answer him, if i were you.

at any rate, i don’t remember exactly where the answers to that “claim” can be found, but i’ll try.

Is he trying to use this to attack the validity of the Church? If so, it doesn’t matter what the stats are (although they are inflated). Remember, the Church has never taught error or changed the deposit of faith and morals. Don’t let your friend use the sins of Catholics to attack the Church. The fact the the deposit of faith has been preserved despite all these sinners (including a couple downright wicked popes) is a testament to the true protection of the Holy Spirit.

No, it’s not the same guy, it’s a different one, and, I’m not even sure if I SHOULD answer him publicly because it’s just going to start something (hypothetical). He’s not wearing down my belief in the Church, I just want to show others on the board (if they will even listen) that that is NOT what the Church is about. THAT is why I am concerned.
