Yesterday was brutal. I never throw these words around, but yesterday was enough to make me want to quit. I’ve had several days like yesterday in the last few months just strictly work-related (not counting struggles with family illness and busy schedules). I don’t throw these words around lightly b/c our family couldn’t afford for me to quit my job.
Long story short, I am bombing. There are some tasks that, try as I might, no matter how much time we’ve invested and out-of-town educational meetings we’ve had, I just can’t wrap my head around and give my boss the answers she needs. I’ve expressed this to her time and time again that I will hit so many road blocks before I’ll move on to something I DO know how to do. I am drowning and not able to keep up with my work and she knows that. I also happen to not be the only one feeling this way, but def. feeling like I’m the only one not giving her results despite the struggle. I’ve told her repeatedly that I’d like to give this part of my job to someone else (regionalize it like everything else), but this is not an option, esp. will continued layoffs.
I feel like a failure. I feel like a failure here, at home (can’t get our budget under control). I just don’t even try anymore. I feel like I’m not being honest and forthright, it’s easy to give up if something isn’t coming together quickly or easily enough.
Jesus, mercy.
