I’m having a bit of a problem on another board. There is one person who says we are divine. And there are several who seem to agree. I have been acussed of merely stating my opinion when I say we are not. That I haven’t backed up that “claim.”

If it helps, it’s at faithforum.org/challenge. Can anyone advise me? 😦

Since we are natural human creatures the burden is on them the back up the claim we are divine. By saying we are merely humans you are saying the obvious. We ARE human animals. Milk feeding, live birthing mammals. If they have evidence we are divine beings have them show it.

Also, which thread is the one this subject is on? and what is the context in which they are saying it. It is Catholic theology that we share in the divine nature after baptism due to the Incarnation.

If they are so divine, could you ask them to miraculously give me the tickets to the next powerball lottery drawing? :whacky:

Sounds like some Gnostic stuff…New Age…
I agree. It is New Age pantheistic teaching. These people have always believed that all humans are actually “gods in disguise”, but that we don’t know it yet, and therefore our goal is that we should shake off this ignorance of our true nature and “rediscover” our inner divinity. No wonder some people are easily attracted by their doctrines.

My wife said I was divine … no wait, she said get me some wine.

It never really occurred to me that the fact that I am not God was something that needed to be proved. Most of my friends accept it readily, (enemies as well.)

Thanks guys!! On my last post there, I did ask them to prove their theory. I haven’t checked back since then. I wanted to get some advice first.

This thread is at www.faithforum.org/challenge. In case any of you would like to go over there to set these guys straight.
